Guide to local Independence Day events

The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate in the Bay Area. We are so fortunate to have so much pride and patriotism on display. Here are a few local ways to celebrate the day:

Foster City Fourth of July Celebration
(my personal favorite-sponsored by my Foster City Lions!)
Where: Foster City, Leo Ryan Park
When: July 4, 9 a.m. – 9:45 p.m.;
Fireworks over the lagoon at 9:30 p.m.

Palo Alto Summer Festival and Chili Cook-off
Where: Palo Alto, Mitchell Park
When: July 4, Noon – 5 p.m.

Redwood City 4th of July Parade, Festival, and Fireworks
Where: Redwood City, Downtown and the Port of Redwood City.
When: July 4, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Pancake breakfast 7:30 – 10:30 a.m.; 5k race at 8:45 a.m.; Parade at 10 a.m.; Fireworks over Port of Redwood City at 9:30 p.m.

Annual 4th of July Parade
Where: Half Moon Bay, Main Street
When: July 4, Parade at noon

Menlo Park’s 4th of July Celebration
Where: Menlo Park, Parade starts at Santa Cruz & Chestnut. Events at Burgess Park.
When: July 4, parade starts at 11:45 a.m.

4th of July Celebration at Frontierland Park
Where: Pacifica, Frontierland Park
When: July 4, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
