KW RED DAY

Image #1

Yesterday was another wonderful day of volunteering for me, my team and the entire Keller Williams office. We participated in the annual RED Day, a day of service to the community where we live. Our contribution this year was service at Fiesta Gardens International School in San Mateo. We not only organized their library and card catalog for the students but also went to the garden and pulled out every single weed. Even though we wore gloves, the numerous stinging nettles caused some rashes and inflammation. Glad we could remove them from the gardens for the kids!

Fiesta Gardens International School is a magnet school dedicated to promoting fluency, literacy and academic excellence in both Spanish and English. Their mission is to develop the capacity and love for learning in all students with rigorous, thought-provoking and challenging curriculum presented through a global perspective. With Spanish as their target language, students receive the majority of their schooling in Spanish. Each year, the percentage of Spanish is reduced as English curriculum is increased.

RED Day, which stands for RenewEnergize and Donate, is the Keller Williams annual day of service. Each year on the second Thursday of May, our offices close nationally to celebrate RED Day as a part of our legacy worth leaving. Making a difference in the lives of others and bettering the communities that we serve lies at the heart of the Keller Williams culture. I am very proud to be part of a company that makes a point to give back to the community. I especially love supporting our local schools.
