Where and how you choose to spend your money makes a difference, so while donating, protesting, and petitioning are all great efforts, buying from Black-owned businesses is also a surefire way to support the community directly. Grab a coffee, a sweet, or a bite to eat from one of these spots, and maybe even pair it with a movie, show, podcast, or book on Black lives + antiracism to really kick off Black History Month.
