The Peninsula’s Week in View

The holiday festivities are underway in the Peninsula! Please take a look at these events in your area. Hope you are having a great week. I’d like to give a special thanks and wish those who have served or are currently serving our country a happy Veterans Day.

San Mateo: 

  • Please welcome the holiday season with San Mateo’s tree lighting ceremony and ice skating show with performances by the Peninsula Skating Club and Olympian Polina Edmunds. Located in Central Park, this free celebration kicks off the opening of the 9,000 sq. ft. real ice rink opening November 14th through January 10th. November 13th 6-8 PM. San Mateo On Ice
  • With hundreds of vendors displaying one-of-a-kind crafts and merchandise under one roof, the Harvest Festival is the ideal place to begin your holiday shopping; or shop for yourself! San Mateo Event Center Nov. 13-14: 10 AM – 6 PM.  Nov. 15 10 AM – 5 PM Adults $9.00, Seniors 62+ $7.00, Youths 13-17 $4.00. Children 12 and under accompanying by an adult is free. Foster City:

  • Venturing to try new food in your community? Check out Foster City’s weekly Off The Grid Wednesday evenings outside of the Senior Center. Featuring food trucks from an array of cuisines, discover the meal that will please your palette.  Bon appétit! Wednesday evenings 5 PM – 8 PM Off The Grid – Foster City
  • Foster City’s Department of Park and Recreation along with Baybasi Inc. host the celebration of Diwali, India’s  autumn festival of lights. This free event located at the Leo Ryan Park includes food and art vendors from different regions in India, traditional music and dance as well as the ceremonial lighting of the Diya. Saturday, Nov 14th. 12:00-6:30 PM. Diwali Festival

Menlo Park: 

  • Visit Facebook’s weekly farmers’ market for locally grown and organic produce, music, food trucks and free activities for the children. This Sunday, donate a new pair of socks for the Warm Sock Drive and receive $10 in Moola Money, credit that be used towards anything in the market. Also, enter to win a $200 gift card from Safeway or Draeger’s Market!
