All the realtors we'd met prior blended into each other, but Rumana stood out as particularly forthright, articulate, and competent.
We'd been casually browsing homes when we met Rumana at a Foster City open house.
All the realtors we'd met prior blended into each other, but Rumana stood out as particularly forthright, articulate, and competent. And knowing how nuts the Bay Area buyers' market is (this phrase has become cliche...sigh), competence seemed most important.
Rumana followed up to schedule a consult at our home. During this, she explained the Bay Area housing market, what a realtor does, and her particular approach and skills (deep knowledge of mid-peninsula real estate, strong negotiator, and trusted industry name). The meeting confirmed our initial gut feeling.
We ended up tabling our home search for months to deal with other life milestones. When the time came to start a serious search, she was as ready as we were. At that point, she introduced us to her colleague Sasai, who was a good tactician counterpoint to Rumana's strategist.
Long story short, within two weeks of starting the search, our first (and only) offer was accepted. I attribute it to Rumana's offer creation guidance, strong negotiation in collaboration with our lender, and robust network (the seller's agent happened to be a former colleague of hers). This confirmed everything she told us during our consult! 21 days later, we closed. Our first home purchase couldn't have gone smoother.
Rumana and Sasai did their work to a high standard, in a timely manner, flexibly, and always with a "customer first" attitude. Beyond the close, they continued to help us with odds and ends. I like knowing they'll be in our corner in the future should we need their help.
They're a winning, "full service" real estate team. Highly recommended!
P.S. SELLERS - take note that Rumana has a Master's in English and a way with words - skills that help create effective marketing materials for homes!
